The Australian government is seeking the best and brightest global talent in the following 10 future-focused target sectors:
- Resources
- Agri-food and Ag-tech
- Energy
- Health industries
- Defense, advanced manufacturing, and space
- Circular economy
- Digitech
- Infrastructure and tourism
- Financial services and fintech
- Education
- Applicants for the Global Talent Independent visa must be internationally recognized, currently prominent in their field, and able to provide evidence of outstanding achievements over their career. This may include senior roles, patents, professional awards, and international publications and memberships.
- Applicants must provide evidence that they would be an asset to Australia in their area of expertise and have no difficulty obtaining employment in the country or becoming established in their field.
- Applicants must be able to obtain a nomination from a recognized organization or individual in Australia, in the same field as the applicant.
- Places are also available to PhD graduates and certain PhD students who are nearing completion of their thesis and can demonstrate their exceptional talent and international recognition in a target sector.
