Welcome to the February 2026 edition of our Malaadhu Thar’wah newsletter.
As we approach the blessed month of Ramadan, this period serves as a gentle reminder for reflection, preparation, and intentional living. Ramadan is not only a season of fasting, but a time for spiritual renewal, discipline, generosity, and mindful planning — both spiritually and materially.
Preparing for the Coming Season
Allah (SWT) says:
“O you who believe, fasting has been prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may attain taqwa (God-consciousness).” (Qur’an 2:183)
As believers, preparation for Ramadan goes beyond adjusting meal times. It includes:
- Setting spiritual intentions
- Planning acts of charity and Sadaqah
- Organising personal, family, and business affairs to allow space for worship
- Ensuring clarity and order in our responsibilities, trusts, and legacies
- A well-prepared heart experiences Ramadan more deeply.
Ramadan Calendar
To support your preparation, we have included a Ramadan Calendar to help you plan your fasts, prayers, and key moments of reflection throughout the month.
We encourage you to use this calendar as a guide for:
- Daily fasting intentions
- Salah and Qur’an engagement
- Acts of generosity and kindness
- Family and community connection
Ramadan 1447 AH Calendar (Tentative – Confirmed by Moon Sighting)
According to announcements from the League of Imams and Alfas in Yorubaland and other Nigerian Islamic authorities, based on astronomical calculations:
- First day of fasting (1 Ramadan): Wednesday, February 18, 2026 (Taraweeh prayers begin the evening of Tuesday, February 17, 2026)
- Expected end: Around Thursday, March 19, 2026 (Eid al-Fitr likely Friday, March 20, 2026, subject to Shawwal moon sighting)
In Lagos, fasting hours start at approximately 13 hours, with Fajr around 5:45–5:50 AM WAT and Iftar near 7:00 PM WAT initially. Use local mosque timetables, apps like AlAdhan, or Muslim Pro for daily precise times.
We encourage printing or saving a full calendar to guide your daily intentions, prayers, generosity, and family connections.
A Season for Intentional Planning
Ramadan highlights that our time, wealth, and affairs are amanah (trusts) from Allah. It is the perfect time to ensure our material planning—estate, succession, and charitable giving—aligns with Shariah and supports ongoing rewards.
At Fiduciary Services Limited, we guide Muslim clients with Shariah-compliant services, including:
- Estate planning and wills incorporating Sadaqah Jariyah and Waqf
- Ethical business succession to preserve halal legacies
- Structured charitable trusts for Zakat, Ramadan Sadaqah, and perpetual community benefit
Let this Ramadan inspire proactive steps toward an eternal legacy of faith and generosity.
In closing, may Allah grant us the tawfiq to prepare well, fast sincerely, give abundantly, and exit Ramadan renewed in iman and purpose.
